Create a vision board

What is a Vision Board?

Simply put, a vision board is a physical collection of items such as pictures, magazine clippings, words and quotes that visually affirm your goals and dreams for the year. It’s an ideal way to start the new year productively.

What are the benefits?

Not only is the process enjoyable it also helps you to reflect on your past year, identify what is important to you in the now and what you want to manifest and create in the coming year.

What you will need:

  • Poster board
  • Magazines
  • Additional images and words (optional), from artworks, old books, or printed from the internet
  • Scissors
  • Glue sticks
  • Paper and pen
  • Art supplies (optional), such as Sharpies, paint, glitter, or sequins

The Process:

Start by thinking about your GOALS in the following areas:

  • Relationships
  • Career
  • Finances
  • Home
  • Travel
  • Personal Growth
  • Education
  • Health

You can change the categories to align with what’s important to you. If you don’t have magazines to hand you can use your computer and create a digital Vision Board. Try Canva or make one in powerpoint for example.

Visualisation is one of the most powerful mind exercises you can do. Focus on how you want to feel not just on what you want to achieve.

It also helps to have an accountability partner or team to help keep you on track. Why not try this exercise in a group, with a good friend or with a family member?

Once you have collected your images, arrange them on your paper, you might want to divide the paper into sections with the above categories or you may want to be more free flowing and creative with your layout, it is entirely up to you!

Last but not least get gluing and sticking!

Once you feel you’re finished, you can take a photo of it and save it as a wallpaper to your phone, or you can print and frame it and put it up near your workspace as a constant reminder to keep focused on your goals, which in turn, will help you manifest your desires.
